The inception of the Burke Ring starts with a blending of a formidable tungsten powder with carbon to realize its amazing tenacity. The ring is then shaped through compression molding, sintering and refining, forming a smooth texture and an arresting gleam. The deep and luxurious shade of black tungsten carbide is accomplished by a PVD process, which applies thin, tinted layers to the exterior of the naturally gray tungsten carbide in an exceedingly hot, airless environment. This method permanently changes the exterior hue of the tungsten carbide from gray to a deep onyx black.
